Philadelphia-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms are a heterogeneous group of clonal myeloid stem cell diseases and are associated with morphological similarity and a predisposition to thrombotic complications and leukemic transformation. The mechanisms of occurrence and progression of these neoplasms are complex and diverse. This paper reviews the role of prostaglandins in these processes.
