Забезпечення реальної участі корінних народів у формуванні державної політики щодо деокупації та реінтеграції територій є невід’ємною умовою демократичного розвитку України та формування інклюзивної моделі післявоєнної держави. Таким чином, еволюція міжнародних стандартів засвідчує перехід від декларативного визнання прав корінних народів до формування комплексної системи їх інституційного забезпечення. Для України реалізація принципу вільної, попередньої та поінформованої згоди має стратегічне значення, оскільки поєднує вимоги міжнародного права з національними інтересами відновлення територіальної цілісності і забезпечення національної безпеки та забезпечення прав корінних народів.
