51 The obtained results indicate that patients who had undergone radiotherapy demonstrated a greater degree of tooth loss and more complex dental arch defects from a clinical perspective. These findings are consistent with contemporary literature data showing that radiotherapy negatively affects the dentoalveolar system and is associated with a high prevalence of xerostomia and hyposalivation, more severe periodontal changes, and less favorable conditions for dental implant osseointegration with an increased risk of implant failure [1-5]. Therefore, patients with a history of cancer, particularly those who have received radiotherapy, require comprehensive dental evaluation, individualized pre-implant preparation, and careful assessment of periodontal tissue status when planning implant-supported rehabilitation.
