Despite these adversities, the sector has demonstrated remarkable resilience, largely due to substantial international financial assistance. This paper examines the role of external support from key partners — the European Union, International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and other donors — in ensuring the stability and operational continuity of Ukraine's banking system under martial law conditions in 2025–2026. The analysis highlights how international assistance acts as a critical buffer against war-induced shocks, preserving bank liquidity, profitability, and capital ratios. However, dependency on timely disbursements and geopolitical risks remain key vulnerabilities. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for diversifying funding sources, accelerating domestic reforms, and preparing the banking sector for post-war recovery and EU integration.
