127 colonialism," limiting the development of many countries and their ability to meet their energy needs independently. Modern democratic countries are increasingly embracing strategies aimed at developing renewable energy, which is based on the use of naturally renewable resources. The active implementation of solar, wind, bioenergy, and small hydroelectric power technologies allows for the gradual replacement of outdated capacities that run on coal, oil, gas, and nuclear fuel. The global community is increasingly recognizing the need to mitigate the negative environmental impact of the energy sector. Climate change, air pollution, and ecosystem degradation have become priority issues in international policy. In November 2025, COP30 — the 30th annual UN Climate Change Conference — was held in Belém, Brazil, where updated targets for reducing emissions, financing climate change adaptation measures, as well as the development of renewable energy sources and low-carbon technologies were discussed [14]. This event marked a significant step in the global fight against climate change and was aimed at strengthening efforts to implement international climate agreements and improving national action plans for their implementation. The focus was on revising countries' ambitions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing financial support to countries most affected by the consequences of climate change. One of the key outcomes of COP30 was a substantial increase in financing for climate change adaptation. The conference participants agreed to double the resources allocated to developing countries to strengthen their ability to address climate challenges. At the same time, overall financial goals, amounting to tens of billions of dollars per year, remained a priority for achieving sustainable development and environmental protection. COP30 also addressed the challenges of preserving natural ecosystems, particularly tropical forests, which play a key role in absorbing carbon dioxide. While a consensus on halting deforestation was not reached, new financial initiatives aimed at supporting sustainable land use and biodiversity protection were launched, marking an important step in strengthening environmental protection measures.
