At the same time, during the same period, countries extracted about 3.8 trillion cubic meters of natural gas. In 2021, more than 40% of the gas imported into Europe was imported from Russia. Russia accounts for 19.9% of the world's gas reserves, Iran 17.1%, Turkmenistan 7.2%, Qatar 13.1%, China 8.4%, the United States 6.7%, Venezuela 3.3%, Saudi Arabia 3.2%, the United Arab Emirates 3.2%, etc. Europe is concentrated with 13.6 trillion cubic meters , which is 10.8% of all gas reserves. In the last decade , China's gas reserves have recorded the largest increase of 5.7 trillion cubic meters, the United States has also recorded an increase of 4.3 trillion cubic meters, Russia has recorded an increase of 3.3 trillion cubic meters, Iran has recorded only 0.2 trillion cubic meters, and the United Arab Emirates' gas reserves have remained unchanged. Qatar and Saudi Arabia's reserves have decreased, by 1.2 and 1.5 trillion cubic meters, respectively. Global gas reserves have increased by 8.2 trillion cubic meters in the last decade, and by 50.1 trillion cubic meters in the last 20 years.
