The article presents a theoretical and empirical analysis of the relationship between emotional intelligence and behavioral strategies in conflict situations during youth. Emotional intelligence is considered an integrative psychological construct that includes awareness, understanding, and regulation of emotions. Particular attention is paid to emotional maturity, conflict proneness, aggressiveness, and conflict resistance as personal characteristics influencing behavior in conflict interaction. The results of a psychodiagnostic study are presented, and dominant conflict-handling strategies are identified. Statistically significant correlations between indicators of emotional intelligence and both constructive and destructive behavioral strategies are established. It is demonstrated that a higher level of emotional intelligence is associated with a preference for cooperation and compromise, whereas insufficient emotional self-regulation is related to competitive and avoidance-oriented behavior. Keywords: Emotional intelligence, conflict, behavioral strategies, youth, empathy, conflict resistance
