188 mechanisms that allow individuals to maintain behavioral control in conflict situations; however, emotional breakdowns may occur under stress [6]. To determine behavioral strategies in conflict situations, a standardized diagnostic instrument for conflict-handling styles was applied [8, p. 889]. The results demonstrate the dominance of a competitive strategy, which reflects a tendency to defend personal interests and assert one’s position. At the same time, cooperation and compromise occupy subsequent positions, indicating the presence of potential for constructive interaction. Correlation analysis revealed statistically significant relationships between emotional intelligence indicators and behavioral strategies. Positive correlations were found between empathy and cooperation, as well as between emotional understanding and compromise. Negative correlations were observed between emotion regulation and competition, confirming the role of emotional self-regulation in the selection of constructive behavioral patterns. The obtained results are consistent with theoretical approaches that consider emotional intelligence a key resource for social adaptation and the prevention of destructive conflict interaction. The theoretical and empirical analysis demonstrates that emotional intelligence is a crucial psychological factor influencing the choice of behavioral strategies in conflict situations during youth. The participants are characterized by a moderate level of emotional intelligence and conflict resistance combined with high indicators of empathy and emotional understanding. The behavioral profile in conflict situations reflects the dominance of competition alongside the presence of constructive strategies such as cooperation and compromise. The identified correlations confirm that an increase in emotional intelligence contributes to the development of effective interaction patterns. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of applying the obtained results in programs aimed at developing emotional competence and promoting constructive conflict behavior among young people.
