This article examines the prospects for developing autonomous energy systems based on renewable energy sources (RES) under critical situations, particularly war and the destruction of centralized energy infrastructure in Ukraine. It analyzes the current state of the country's energy system, the challenges associated with its restoration, and the opportunities emerging from the implementation of decentralized energy solutions. Particular attention is given to the role of various types of RES—solar, wind, and small hydroelectric power plants—in creating autonomous systems capable of ensuring sustainable and flexible energy supply at the local level. The economic, environmental, and social benefits of this approach are assessed, including increased energy security, job creation, and reduced environmental impact. The article also highlights the key technical and regulatory aspects necessary for the effective deployment of autonomous renewable energy systems, in particular, issues of modernization of grid infrastructure, development of energy storage systems, and stimulation of private investment through legislative initiatives.
