This study provides a comparative assessment of oral hygiene status among users of traditional cigarettes, heated tobacco systems (HNB), and smokeless tobacco (snus). Significant differences in DI-S, CI-S, MGI, and DMFT indices were observed, demonstrating unique risk profiles depending on the form of tobacco exposure. Cigarette smokers showed the greatest caries burden, HNB users exhibited the highest levels of soft and hard deposits, and snus users presented the strongest gingival inflammatory response. These findings highlight the necessity for personalised preventive strategies in dental practice based on tobacco-use type.
