The article analyses the prevalence of nail psoriasis and onychomycosis as a pressing public health issue. It examines the epidemiological, clinical and organizational aspects of combined nail damage, its impact on patients' quality of life, treatment effectiveness and the burden on the healthcare system. The need for a systematic approach to diagnosis with mandatory mycological confirmation before prescribing systemic and biological therapy is justified. Psoriasis is a chronic immune-inflammatory skin disease characterised by recurrent episodes and a significant impact on the physical and psycho-emotional state of patients. According to epidemiological studies, the prevalence of psoriasis worldwide ranges from 1 to 3% of the population, and nail damage is observed in 10- 15% of patients, increasing to 80-90% in patients with psoriatic arthritis [1].
