Digital tools significantly contribute to achieving this goal, as they create an interactive and supportive learning environment. Ukrainian secondary school students actively use digital devices in their daily lives; therefore, incorporating online platforms into English lessons increases their interest and involvement. For example, tools such as Kahoot, Quizizz, or Wordwall are widely used to practice vocabulary and grammar in a game-based format. These activities encourage active participation, collaboration, and healthy competition, which aligns with the NUS focus on positive learning motivation. Digital tools also play an important role in developing communicative competence, which is a key objective of English language teaching under the NUS. Authentic digital resources allow students to experience real-life language use and cultural diversity. Platforms such as YouTube, British Council LearnEnglish, and BBC Learning English provide access to videos, interviews, and dialogues by native speakers. For instance, students may watch short videos related to everyday topics and then complete speaking tasks, role-plays, or group discussions. Such activities help learners develop listening comprehension, pronunciation, and fluency while fostering intercultural awareness. In accordance with the NUS, English lessons should promote collaboration and teamwork. Digital tools support cooperative learning by enabling students to work together on shared tasks. Using Google Docs or Padlet, learners can collaborate on projects, presentations, or creative writing tasks. For example, students may create a digital poster about Ukrainian culture for an international audience or write a collaborative story in English. This approach develops not only language skills but also social and civic competencies, which are essential components of the New Ukrainian School model.
