Journalists consciously turn to historical expressions such as « carry coals to Newcastle » or «send to Coventry», filling them with relevant content . For example, in materials on international relations, the first phraseological unit might describe senseless economic sanctions, while the second describes diplomatic isolation. This approach not only preserves cultural heritage but also establishes a connection between historical experience and contemporary realities, making old images relevant to a new audience [6].
