The model also employs a 0–10 wave coherence scale, which reflects the stability and alignment of the system: from chaotic, reactive states to a stable, resonant conduit-level wave. This operational level makes it possible to: empirically observe state expressions in natural environments; track transformations in body, emotion, attention, and interaction; measure developmental dynamics, rather than describe them abstractly; integrate qualitative and embodied methods within a unified analytical framework. Thus, the background state model provides a tangible, observable foundation for studying resonant, coherent states and complements the conceptual framework with concrete mechanisms of measurement. SECTION 4. METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS FOR STUDYING THE COHERENT STATE 4.1. General Methodological Orientation The study of coherent human states requires a methodology aligned with the nature of the phenomenon itself: multidimensional, dynamic, embodied, relational, and ecosystemic. Because coherence emerges through the interaction ―human ↔ environment,‖ the methods must capture both internal processes and their expression in real interactions with others, with nature, and with social structures. The methodological framework integrates phenomenology, embodied observation, narrative inquiry, ecological ethnography, systemic action research, and ecosystemic analysis — each corresponding to a specific dimension of coherence. Additionally, the methodological framework is informed by contemporary neuropsychological theories that conceptualize the regulation of human states, including the somatic marker hypothesis [8], polyvagal theory [6], the constructed theory of emotion [7], interpersonal neurobiology [9], and resonance-based mechanisms linked to the mirror neuron system [11].
